Congo Dialium is a dense and highly resonant tonewood, increasingly popular as a sustainable and acoustically exceptional alternative to traditional rosewoods. It delivers a brilliant, bell-like tap tone with outstanding sustain, characterized by deep, focused lows and sparkling, articulate highs.
Workability & Appearance:
The heartwood exhibits a rich reddish-brown to deep brown color, often beautifully accented by subtle darker streaks. Due to its high density, it requires sharp tools for machining, but it rewards the effort by taking an exceptionally smooth, glass-like natural polish. This high density and tight grain make it highly desirable for premium fretboards and acoustic back and side sets.
